An interesting and successful interpretation of a varietal wine produced from Ansonica (Inzolia) vines. An important variety, particularly widespread in the west of Sicily. Its colour is captivating, a beautiful golden yellow with greenish highlights, and its fragrance is fine and delicate, with typical flowery notes of acacia, broom and orange blossom, enhanced with mineral nuances. It is fresh and full-bodied on the palate, of good structure, with a slight and very pleasant undertone of soft almond. A dynamic and satisfying wine of great versatility. Once again, the fertile lands of the Dagala Borromeo estate have offered mankind its precious gift in return for the constant love and devotion it receives.
Tasting notes
Colour: pale and bright straw-yellow, with an almost greenish hue.
Nose: delicate and fine with a range of aromas that evoke exotic fruit, mainly pineapple, mango and papaya, almond, lime and wisteria, iris and acacia flowers, woven together with delicious nuances of Mediterranean herbs.
Palate: freshness is the winning feature of this wine, which together with the good concentration of fruit, makes it very pleasant, drinkable, lip smacking and lively; it has an excellent finish with notes of almond and sea salt.
Characteristics: fully developed nectar typical of the variety, a flawless expression of the grapes it is produced from, lively and dynamic, it combines straightforwardness with a crystal-clear agreeable taste profile, accentuating its remarkable lightness and tanginess.
Interesting facts
The Chiaramonte family arrived in Sicily in the 14th century, after the Norman era. Attracted by the beauty of the island, they settled there and performed important roles at the service of King Peter of Aragon and King Louis of Sicily. Their august family name has now been revived and bestowed on a wine that fully represents Firriato’s production philosophy of valorising autochthonous varieties.
Chiaramonte Bianco is a varietal wine produced from Ansonica grapes and has a charming and rigorous bouquet in line with the splendour of this noble house.
