The origin of the name Recioto is uncertain; perhaps it derives from the dialect word "recie" (ears) which indicates the small lateral and more sugary bunches of grapes; perhaps it derives from the Latin "recemus" which means bunch or perhaps from "recis" a late medieval Latin word meaning bunches detached and hung up. A history with far-off roots continues with this Recioto della Valpolicella, in the tradition of unmistakeable quality since 1883.

Winemaker notes: Deep ruby red in colour with violaceous and velvety nuances. Intense aroma of wild cherry, raspberry, plum, vanilla and dried berries. Creamy, full - bodied, smooth and soft, sweet but well balanced by acidity with lingering aromatic finish.

Food matches: Typically a wine for dessert or for savouring on its own. Recommended with dry desserts (tarts) or better still, dark chocolate.
