The extraordinarily complex perfumes that are a vital part of this Franciacorta’s make-up are a major element, but not the only one, in determining the particular style that sets this Gran Cuvée apart from other, more traditional Bruts. In fact, more than 30% of the wines that make up this Gran Cuvée ferment and mature for over 7 months in small oak barrels and this factor contributes, together with other specially selected parcels of wine, in giving it a perfect all-round balance.
Grape varieties:
The grapes used are approximately 72% Chardonnay and 28% Pinot Nero.
Color:
Its mousse is pale and exuberant; the perlage is especially tiny, dense and persistent.
Its colour is a deepish brilliant straw yellow.
Nose:
The positive, particularly fine and complex bouquet displays dominant floral notes of hawthorn, wormwood and dried bay leaves.
Flavour:
Its flavour is very dry and exceptionally elegant, with an aristocratic and remarkably persistent undertone of preserves and incense.
It displays firm backbone, satin-like fruit and excellent breed.
