Maturation and refinement: the blend is created after the maturation of the respective varieties. Melnik ages for 9 months in Bulgarian oak barrels on the second use while the Pinot Noir, again for 9 months, in American oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: Vivid ruby color of medium intensity with garnet hues. Intense and intriguing aroma with hints of cherries, herbs and tobacco leaves, mixed with earthy and leafy aromas of dried mint and black pepper. Fresh and juicy flavors. Light to medium bodied with smooth, velvety tannins, with a ripe, spicy finish. An elegant wine, a harmonious blend between the "wild girl" Melnik and the "noble gentleman" Pinot Noir.
