The ultimate expression of the terroir. A triumph of fruity floral sensations opens the way to a vista capable of capturing even the most discriminating wine lover. Minerality and savory accents blend, following a path of rare complexity, and creating a perfect synergy with the most classic elements characteristic of pure Chardonnay.
Production zone: Franciacorta (Brescia), from a proprietary vineyard, the “Pian Della Villa” vineyard, located in Monticelli Brusati. Blend: 100% Chardonnay Yield per hectare: 80/95 Quintals/Ha
Planting Density: 4,500 vines per hectare, trained to the spurred cordon and modified Sylvoz systems.
Vineyard Management: Complete, sown ground cover. Pruning to a small number of buds, and occasional fertilization with organic matter. Biological pest control.
Terrain characteristics: Hill base, with south-southeast exposure. Clayey terrains further enriched by a thick layer of fossiliferous cherty marls derived from the excavations carried out in 1989 to build the new aging cellars.
Harvest: Late, to gather all complexity of the aromas that come with full ripening. The harvest is by hand, with selection of the grapes.
Vinification: Destemming, followed by cryomaceration and soft pressing. Fermentation is in steel tanks at controlled temperatures (18 C) with selected autochthonous yeasts.
Aging: In steel until spring, and in barriques until the autumn following the harvest. The wine is then bottled and bottle-aged for more than 12 months prior to release. Available in 0.750 liter bottles. Best drunk after 3 years from the harvest.
Tasting notes and food-wine pairing: Ample tropical fruit aromas complemente- dby spice and vanilla. The excellent structure and richness of this Curtefranca confer roundness, softness, and aromatic persistence.
