Märke: Conti Serristori
“La Vela” Toscana IGT
Conti Serristori, with four generations of experience in the field of vine growing and wine making, offers a white wine for modern times, made from trebbiano toscano, traditional white varietal from the hills of central Tuscany. The selection of the grapes and improved oenological techniques enable the creation of a light, fresh and fruity wine with a relatively low level of alcohol.
Grapes: 85% trebbiano toscano; 15% complementary varieties.
Vineyard: parcels trained by the Guyot and spurred cordon systems on well- exposed hills (300-350 metres altitude) of mixed soil (alberese, galestro, clayey schist) in the provinces of Florence and Siena. The production of grapes is 80 quintals/hectare, with a yield of 65% wine.
Vinification: the grapes, picked at just the right balance of acidity and sugar, are vinified by the white wine method, with a gentle pressing; the young must, clarified by cold settling, ferments at 15°C following the addition of selected yeasts, which enhance the varietal aromas. The new wine ages in steel tanks until it is cold, sterile bottled.
Wine: straw colour with green highlights; fragrant bouquet of roses and green apples, with a hint of lemon; dry, fresh and clean, delicately fruity flavour with an attractive, lingering aftertaste of green almonds.
Analytical details: 11.95% alcohol; 5.00g/l total acidity; 3.31 pH; 3.90/l sugar; 18.10g/l extract.
Optimum keeping: 1 year in bottles stored horizontally in cool, dark conditions.
Food matches: light hors d’oeuvres, delicate first courses and fish in white wine.
Serving temperature: 10°-12°C.
