It surprises us with the intensity, the richness and the great persistence of its bouquet. The varietal characteristics of the vine are embellished and enhanced by sharp and elegant sensations, which remind us of the ripe fruits of black cherries, blueberries and peach jam. Floral nuances, "mountain hay", licorice and tobacco, enhance the noble tertiary scents, which were formed during maturation. Hints of undergrowth and noble woods complete the olfactory sensations.
For centuries famous and known all over the world, this noble son of Nebbiolo is
historically linked to the Italian Risorgimento. They see it born and they make it big
famous names like the Marchesa Giulia Falletti di Barolo, the Count Cavour and the first royals
of the House of Savoy. An austere, generous, very long-lived wine that is considered a pride
of Italian enology. The Rocche Vineyard of Castiglione is located in one of the most areas
vocates of the municipality of Castiglione Falletto.
On the palate we have a warm and enveloping start. Clear but soft tannins and a good acid presence enhance its powerful, rich wine structure, suitable for long years of aging. In conclusion we find ourselves, in this moment, in front of an austere, generous and important wine. The Barolo of this area is very long-lived and is a great promise for the future.
