Albiòn is the local dialect name for a “cru” at Villa Novare, in the heart of the Amarone terroir, on the side of a high south-east facing hill. This position means that the vines benefit from being exposed to the sun’s rays from early
morning until sunset. The Cabernet Sauvignon vines are
planted close together in such a way as to produce the
minimum quantity required to give ripe bunches rich in
substance. The strength of the grape and the 18 months
cask maturation process make this a meaty and densely
fruity wine, with a texture that is a fine balance between
suppleness and structure. A Cabernet Sauvignon with a strong personality, which has taken its place among the best in the world and has won the most prestigious French award in Bordeaux. Its organoleptic characteristics include dark and sweet notes which mean that it needs to accompany strongly flavoured dishes: meat, game and mature cheese.
Grape varieties:
Cabernet Sauvignon.
The vines are cultivated using “spalliera “method.
The pruning is making using “cordon spur” method
with 5.000 bases/ha.
Ageing:
After a period in stainless steel tanks, the wine ages
for 18 months in barriques of French Allier wood,
half new and half of which were previously used for
one wine. The wine is then aged in the bottle for
6 months.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Intense red color with purple reflections.
At the nose very intense perception of a red berry
fruit, accompanied by a note spicy like boxwood and
prune, cocoa and vanilla. Very full-bodied on the palate,
while in the presence of soft tannins, all accompanied
by red berries and a good sapidity
